After the Leica´s own development of the Leicaflex, the era of cooperation between Leica and Minolta resulted in a great camera lineup starting with the Leica R3 and the sister from Minolta the Minolte XE-1.
Both cameras are built to last and are sharing the controls, shutter and body. The Leica offers an additional switch for light metering between Point and whole frame metering. The lenses and the mount is different too.
The Minolta lenses are very good, but don´t share the reputation of leica glass. Thus the XE-1 is a solid performer without the glamour of the red dot.
For practical use, both solution offer the same level, for the feeling the Leica wins with the small differences as a sight window for the 35mm film at the back, the black finish and the choose of light metering options.
The budget winner is the Minolta.
